Top Cat has grown out of many years studio experience making records for other people. We've seen good records fail and bad records succeed, so by now you'd think we should be able to get it right. Rooted in the song and with an honest production approach we make records with an appeal and charm that's hard to avoid - records you really want to like.

Mainman Tim Oliver started out in Manchester producing and engineering records for Factory amongst others, including the first Happy Mondays ep with Mike Pickering. That partnership continued through to the first M-People album Northern Soul. Further credits up north included The Stone Roses, New Order and A Certain Ratio. He continues studio work down south with recent clients this year: Robert Plant, The B52s, Trans Global Underground, Sinead O'Connor, Andrea Corr and Goldfrapp.

With the experience, expertise and a cracking recording studio we can make great records quickly and cheaply.

Running out of offices at Peter Gabriel's Real World studios we're at the creative epicentre of the south-west.
